Present research highlighted the efficacy of alkali-treated (1% NaOH) chicken feather toward removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution through batch study. Box–Behnken design (BBD) by response surface methodology was used to optimize the adsorption process.

Dissolved humic substances supplied as potential enhancers of Cu, Cd, and Pb adsorption by two different mangrove sediments [PDF]
Purpose The external supply of humic substances has been recently suggested for the remediation of metal-polluted sediments; however, little is known about how to supply them and their effects on metal mobility.

Adsorption of Zinc ions by native and modified acacia bark (Acacia auriculiformis) [PDF]
Modified sorption materials were produced by treating earleaf acacia (Acacia auriculiformis) bark with low-concentration (1-3%wt) sulfuric acid solutions. The sorption properties of native and modified acacia bark for zinc (II) ions were studied.

Zn sorption on Ca-illite and Ca-smectite: experiment and modelling [PDF]
To predict Zn behaviour in soil, the retention properties of clay minerals plays a relevant role. In a continental environment, Ca is the main cation in solution.

High-performance liquid chromatography as a technique to measure the competitive adsorption of plasma proteins onto latices [PDF]
Isotherms of human serum albumin (HSA), human immunoglobulin G (HIgG), and human fibrinogen (HFb) onto a polystyrene (PS)-latex were determined by depletion of protein in the solution, which was either followed by radioactivity measurements or by UV ...

Removal of Copper(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution Using Alkali-Treated Kenaf Core Fibres
In this study, the sorption of Cu(II) ions from aqueous solution onto NaOH-treated kenaf core fibres was investigated. The kenaf core fibres were milled into different sizes and treated with NaOH before being used to investigate their efficiency in ...

Temperature dependence of adsorption hysteresis in flexible metal organic frameworks
Flexible metal–organic frameworks that undergo structural transformations upon gas sorption show great promise for applications in gas storage and separation, but accurately describing their stepped isotherms and hysteresis remains a challenge. Here, the

A Gel Probe Equilibrium Sampler for Measuring Arsenic Porewater Profiles and Sorption Gradients in Sediments: I. Laboratory Development [PDF]
A gel probe equilibrium sampler has been developed to study arsenic (As) geochemistry and sorption behavior in sediment porewater. The gels consist of a hydrated polyacrylamide polymer, which has a 92% water content.

Permeation of CO2 and N2 through glassy poly(dimethyl phenylene) oxide under steady- and presteady-state conditions [PDF]
Glassy polymers are often used for gas separations because of their high selectivity. Although the dual-mode permeation model correctly fits their sorption and permeation isotherms, its physical interpretation is disputed, and it does not describe ...

Sorption of phosphates and thiocyanates on isomorphic substituted Mg/Zn–Al-type hydrotalcites [PDF]
The sorption equilibriums of phosphate and thiocyanate anions on isomorphic substituted Mg/Zn–Al-type hydrotalcites were investigated in this study. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used to interpret the equilibrium data for phosphate. The sorption
