Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Detecting compact galactic binaries using a hybrid swarm-based algorithm

open access: yes, 2016
Compact binaries in our galaxy are expected to be one of the main sources of gravitational waves for the future eLISA mission. During the mission lifetime, many thousands of galactic binaries should be individually resolved.

Source identification problems for Schrödinger differential and difference equations

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
In the present study, a source identification problem for a one-dimensional Schrödinger equation is investigated. Stability estimates for the solution of the source identification problem are established. A first order of accuracy difference scheme for the numerical solution of this problem is presented.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Application of Nitrogen and Oxygen Isotopes for Source and Fate Identification of Nitrate Pollution in Surface Water: A Review

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Nitrate pollution in surface water has become an environmental problem of global concern. The effective way for controlling the nitrate pollution of surface water is to identify the pollution source and reduce the input of nitrate.

A convergence rates result for an iteratively regularized Gauss-Newton-Halley method in Banach space

open access: yes, 2014
The use of second order information on the forward operator often comes at a very moderate additional computational price in the context of parameter identification probems for differential equation models.

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
