Quantum imaging with SPAD arrays (Conference Presentation)
Single Molecule Spectroscopy and Superresolution Imaging XIII, 2020The emerging field of quantum imaging introduces new methods to overcome classical limitations in optical microscopy. A detection apparatus capable of analyzing the quantum signature of light, is a crucial component in the heart of any such method. We present a novel quantum imaging modality, based on a state-of-the-art single photon avalanche diode (

Drone segmentation and orientation detection using a SPAD array camera
Defense + Commercial Sensing, 2022The recent development of single-photon avalanche diode (SPADs) arrays as imaging sensors with both picosecond binning capabilities and single photon sensitivity has led to the rapid development of time-of-flight imaging systems. When used in conjunction

Preliminary Test Measurements of the SPAD Array
2004This is a progress report on preliminary test measurements aimed to evaluate the performance of new Single Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPAD) developed by ST Microelectronics. Various samples with different dimensions (from 10 to 100 μm diameter) and two 5x5 arrays (20 and 40 μm) are manufactured by STM; some of which have been characterized.

Room temperature 96x96 InGaAs/InP SPAD array for SWIR imaging
Environmental Remote SensingWe present a 96x96 InGaAs/InP single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array for detection at 1550nm wavelength. The pixels have a diameter of 15μm and a 25μm pitch, resulting in a fill factor of 28.3%.

SPAD arrays for parallel photon counting and timing
2010 IEEE Photinic Society's 23rd Annual Meeting, 2010We present a detection module based on a linear array of Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPAD) made in a standard CMOS technology. The monolithic chip is employed both to count photons at very high frame-rate (up to 4,000,000 frames/s, with 250 ns time tagging resolution) and to mark photon arrival time with 50 ps timing precision.

Planar technologies for SPAD arrays with improved performances
SPIE Proceedings, 2012In the last years many progresses have been made in the field of Silicon Single Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPAD) thanks to the improvements both in device design and in fabrication technology. For example, the use of custom fabrication processes has allowed a steadily improvement of SPAD performance in terms of active area diameter, Dark Count Rate (DCR),
