s2ISM: A Comprehensive Approach for Uncompromised Super-Resolution and Optical Sectioning in Image Scanning Microscopy [PDF]
Image Scanning Microscopy (ISM) enables good signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), super-resolution and high information content imaging by leveraging array detection in a laser-scanning architecture. However, the SNR is still limited by the size of the detector,

Custom-Technology Single-Photon Avalanche Diode Linear Detector Array for Underwater Depth Imaging
We present an optical depth imaging system suitable for highly scattering underwater environments. The system used the time-correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC) technique and the time-of-flight approach to obtain depth profiles.

Design of 16 × 16 Low-Timing-Jitter InGaAs/InP Single-Photon Avalanche Photodiode Array for LiDAR
The precise calibration of timing jitter in single-photon chips and LiDAR devices is critical for the development of high-precision LiDAR systems. This paper presents the design and fabrication of a double-diffused InGaAs/InP SAGCM single-photon ...

Currently single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) arrays suffer from a small-scale pixel count, which makes it difficult to achieve high-resolution 3D imaging directly through themselves. We established a CCD camera-assisted SPAD array depth imaging system.

Fundamental limits to depth imaging with single-photon detector array sensors
Single-Photon Avalanche Detector (SPAD) arrays are a rapidly emerging technology. These multi-pixel sensors have single-photon sensitivities and pico-second temporal resolutions thus they can rapidly generate depth images with millimeter precision.

A flexible compact readout circuit for SPAD arrays [PDF]
A compact readout circuit that can be integrated between individual single photon avalanche detectors (SPADs) is described. The circuit uses minimum sized transistors to both quench the avalanche process in the photodetector and integrate charge onto a capacitor to represent the number of detected photons.

Vision begins not with images but with change: the retina fires only when something moves, handing the brain a stream of spikes. A neuromorphic imaging system adopts the same strategy—an event sensor that sees like the retina, a spiking network that thinks like the brain—to track and reconstruct fully randomly moving targets through tissue (phantom ...

An Interface Circuit With Gain Automatic Adjustment for SPAD Arrays
In this paper, a gain automatic adjustment interface circuit is proposed for the non-uniform breakdown voltage of single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) arrays caused by process and materials.
