Simulations of Compressible, Diffusive, Reactive Flows with Detailed Chemistry Using a High-Order Hybrid WENO-CD Scheme [PDF]
A hybrid weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO)/centered-difference (CD) numerical method, with low numerical dissipation, high-order shock-capturing, and structured adaptive mesh refinement (SAMR), has been developed for the direct numerical ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Blumlein discharge circuit stores electrical energy in its transmission line and can release this energy within a few nanoseconds. This leads the Blumlein to discharge circuit for many applications ranging from electrical discharge in the air to generate

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

The development of the spark discharge. II [PDF]
Abstract An account has already been given of observations made with a rotating-film camera in the study of the electric spark in air at atmospheric pressure (Aliibone and Meek 1938; Allibone 1938). The object of the present paper is to extend the previous results, and in particular to describe the development of the spark in air at ...

Discharge Characteristics of Current Boosted Spark Events Under Flow Conditions
With the advancement of spark ignition engines, lean or diluted in-cylinder charge is often used to improve the engine performance. Enhanced in-cylinder charge motion is widely applied under such conditions to promote the flame propagation, which raise ...

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Spark discharge-initiated radical polymerization
A new spark discharge initiated radical polymerization (SDRP) was developed. Monomer radicals were generated by spark discharge emitted from a Tesla coil as a resonant transformer generating high frequency and high voltage, and the monomer itself acted ...
