Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Simulation and Analytical Analysis of the Blumlein Discharge Circuit for the Generation of Coherent UV Pulses in Air

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering
Blumlein discharge circuit stores electrical energy in its transmission line and can release this energy within a few nanoseconds. This leads the Blumlein to discharge circuit for many applications ranging from electrical discharge in the air to generate

Dependence of Nanoparticles Synthesis Energy Consumption in the Gas Spark Discharge on Circuit Parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we study the specific energy of titanium dioxide nanoparticles synthesis in a spark discharge in the air by varying the parameters of a discharge circuit.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Effect of process parameters on deposition rate and coating roughness of electro discharge deposition on AA7075 aluminium alloy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture, 2023
Nowadays, surface modification techniques are a big part of making metals and alloys better on the outside. Even though various metals and alloys are coated using surface modification techniques, improving the surface properties of the light alloys is ...

Observations on the spark discharge [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London, 1890
The subject of dust-figures produced by electrical discharge has received much attention at various times. In the following notes I have refrained, to the best of my knowledge, from going over old ground. The subject has been reviewed in Lehmann’s recently published ‘Molekularphysik.’ It is a sufficient substitute for the customary

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Construction and performance characteristics of a rapid discharge TEA CO2 laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
A novel excitation technique is described for molecular gas lasers. A specially constructed electrode configuration is activated by a rapid Marx generator.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
