Microplastics (MPs) breach the gut‐brain axis by triggering taurine‐depleting microbiota dysbiosis that accelerates Alzheimer‐like pathology in 5XFAD mice. Taurine supplementation normalizes autophagy, microglial quiescence, and cognition, and plasma taurine inversely tracks cognitive decline in ADNI participants, revealing a readily translatable ...

Insights into the maternal-fetal interface from spatial multi-omics
Recent advances in spatial transcriptomics, spatial proteomics, spatial metabolomics, and multimodal integration strategies have substantially transformed current understanding of the maternal–fetal interface. Rather than functioning as a uniform tissue,

Uncovering metabolic reprogramming in ovarian and cervical cancers with multi-omics
Summary: Ovarian cancer (OC) and cervical cancer (CC) are major causes of gynecological malignancy mortality, but their spatially resolved metabolic features and shared progression-driving metabolic reprogramming remain unexplored.

Inferring super-resolved spatial metabolomics from microscopy
Abstract Current spatial metabolomics techniques have transformed our understanding of cellular metabolism, yet accessible methods are limited in spatial resolution due to sensitivity constraints. MetaLens, a deep generative approach, disrupts this trade-off by quantitatively propagating cellular-resolution

This study uncovers a metabolic‐epigenetic axis licensing zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in mouse embryos. A developmental decline in NAD+ levels activates PARP7, which mono‐ADP‐ribosylates and stabilizes UHRF1. This modification promotes the establishment of permissive histone acetylation marks, thereby facilitating timely ZGA.

An optimized single‐cell transcriptomic framework profiles over 60 000 cells to map the ovine rumen microbiome, partitioning the ecosystem into seven cross‐species functional clusters. In heat‐resistant hosts, a lineage‐specific metabolic shift in Anaerovibrio lipolyticus toward a highly glycolytic phenotype contributes to a “nutritional sparing ...

There is increasing demand to bring the level of metabolomics analyses down to the tissue or cell level. Significant progress has been made involving the use of in situ metabolomics imaging techniques where no tissue collection or extraction is needed prior to analysis. In this chapter we describe a relatively new method which is simple and easy to use.
