Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Surgical myectomy might inhibit ascending aortic dilation in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: a serial cardiac magnetic resonance study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Background The impact of septal myectomy on the progression of ascending aortic (AAo) dilation in patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HOCM) remains uncertain. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between septal myectomy and

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Continued need for special treatment

open access: yesBMJ, 1998
It is not known how many survivors there are from the war in the Far East. Of the 61 000 allied prisoners taken at Singapore all but between 13 000 and 16 000 survived compared with the very high mortality among native slave labourers. This was due largely to the discipline of the men and the remarkable effectiveness of the medical corps working in ...

Myocardial bridging in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: a risk factor for myocardial fibrosis

open access: yesBMC Medicine
Background Myocardial bridging (MB) is common in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). There are sparse data on the impact of MB on myocardial fibrosis in HCM.

Decoding autoimmune disease with single-cell immune repertoire and transcriptome sequencing: mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Autoimmune diseases result from a breakdown of immune tolerance, driving the aberrant activation and clonal expansion of self-reactive T and B cells. Progress has been limited by the inability to link clonal identity to functional states at single-cell ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

A Novel Nomogram for Predicting Warfarin-Related Bleeding: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis
Warfarin is a widely used anticoagulant, and bleeding complications are the main reason why patients discontinue the drug. Currently, there is no nomogram model for warfarin-associated bleeding risk. The aim of this study was to develop a risk-prediction

Berberine protects against hypoxia-induced intestinal injury through modulation of gut microbiota and bile acid metabolism

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundHigh-altitude hypoxia disrupts intestinal homeostasis by impairing the epithelial barrier, triggering inflammation, and promoting microbial translocation. Berberine (BER), a natural isoquinoline alkaloid with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory
