Ultra‐High‐Throughput Discovery of Multifunctional Polyphenolic Coatings on Droplet Microarrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An ultra‐high‐throughput (UHT) combinatorial strategy enables the miniaturized synthesis and screening of ≈30 000 polyamine‐polyphenolic (PaPp) coatings using droplet microarrays (DMA). This approach reveals hundreds of previously unknown fluorescent, redox‐active, and antibacterial materials, including multifunctional, cell‐compatible surfaces ...

Quantitative criteria for species delimitation

open access: yesIbis, 2010
Species are the fundamental units of biology, ecology and conservation, and progress in these fields is therefore hampered by widespread taxonomic bias and uncertainty. Numerous operational techniques based on molecular or phenotypic data have been designed to overcome this problem, yet existing procedures remain subjective or inconsistent ...

Simple Synthesis of Entropy Stabilized Oxides Single Crystal Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Diffusion‐controlled enables the creation of a single‐crystal thin film of Entropy‐stabilized oxides (ESO). ABSTRACT Entropy‐stabilized oxides (ESO) have emerged in the last decade as a new class of metastable materials with promising functional properties.

DNA Barcoding of Recently Diverged Species: Relative Performance of Matching Methods

open access: yes, 2012
Recently diverged species are challenging for identification, yet they are frequently of special interest scientifically as well as from a regulatory perspective.

Integrating coalescent species delimitation with analysis of host specificity reveals extensive cryptic diversity despite minimal mitochondrial divergence in the malaria parasite genus Leucocytozoon

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2018
Background Coalescent methods that use multi-locus sequence data are powerful tools for identifying putatively reproductively isolated lineages, though this approach has rarely been used for the study of microbial groups that are likely to harbor many ...

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Species delimitation according to the literature, literature delimitation checked by patristic distances, ABGD species delimitations and GMYC species delimitations.

open access: yes, 2014
(1): delimitation invalidation due to improbable inter-species distances; (2): delimitation invalidation due to overlapping of intra- and inter-species distances; n.d.: no genetic type defined in the literature; n.a.: genetic type not included in the ...

Unguided Species Delimitation Using DNA Sequence Data from Multiple Loci [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A method was developed for simultaneous Bayesian inference of species delimitation and species phylogeny using the multispecies coalescent model. The method eliminates the need for a user-specified guide tree in species delimitation and incorporates ...

Diatom dataset for automated molecular species delimitation models

open access: yes, 2023
Dataset is composed of alignments and trees built with diatom (Bacillariophyta) species that were used as input to verify the accuracy of different automated molecular species delimitation models in the manuscript:  Comparison between p-distance and ...
