Fine root and leaf functional traits of coastal herbs and their relationship with soil factors
Leaf and root are the most sensitive organs to environment, exploring the relationship between root and leaf functional traits and their responses to environmental factors is helpful to reveal the utilization of resources by plants and their adaption ...

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Friedreich ataxia (FRDA) patients are homozygous for expanded GAA triplet-repeat alleles in the FXN gene. Primary neurodegeneration involving the dorsal root ganglia (DRG) results in progressive ataxia.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

MyROOT 2.0 : An automatic tool for high throughput and accurate primary root length measurement [PDF]
The automatic measurement of external physical traits (i.e. phenotyping) of plant organs, such as root length -which is highly correlated with plant viability- is one of the current bottlenecks in academic and agricultural research.

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Variation in root traits and phenotypic plasticity between native and introduced populations of the invasive plant Chromolaena odorata [PDF]
Understanding intraspecific trait variations, particularly for invasive species that occupy large geographic areas with different resource conditions, can enhance our understanding of plant responses to changes in environmental resources.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
