The finite element method of the eigenvalue problem for the analysis of error with polygonal membrane

open access: yes, 2007
This Helmholtz equation occurs frequently in dynamic meteorology. In classical physics it is the equation of the vibrating membrane. Time-harmonic wave propagation, either elastic waves or electromagnetic waves, is a common phenomenon that appears in ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Stabilization of the Spectral-Element Method in Turbulent Flow Simulations

open access: yes, 2010
The effect of over-integration and filter-based stabilization in the spectral-element method is investigated. There is a need to stabilize the SEM for flow problems involving non-smooth solutions, e.g., turbulent flow simulations.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Computation of Trailing Edge Noise with a Discontinuous Galerkin Method

open access: yes, 2010
Trailing edge noise of a semi-infinite, thin, flat plate situated in low Mach number flow is computed in two spatial dimensions. The Acoustic Perturbation Equations (APE), which are employed as governing equations, are discretized via a Discontinuous ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

A Legendre Spectral-Element Method to Incorporate Topography for 2.5D Direct-Current-Resistivity Forward Modeling

open access: yesMathematics
An effective and accurate solver for the direct-current-resistivity forward-modeling problem has become a cutting-edge research topic. However, computational limitations arise due to the substantial amount of data involved, hindering the widespread use ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...
