On the spectrum of almost periodic solution of second order scalar functional differential equations with piecewise constant argument

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2005
The author investigates the spectrum related to almost-periodic solutions of neutral differential equations with piecewise constant argument. It is shown that differential equations with piecewise constant argument and periodic perturbations possess a quasi-periodic solution and no periodic solution.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

In Defense of Two Intentionalism-Defeating Inverted Spectrum Thought Experiments

open access: yes, 2010
Inverted spectrum thought experiments have often been used to argue against Intentionalism. Eric Marcus, in his article entitled “Intentionalism and the Imaginability of the Inverted Spectrum,” defends two versions of Intentionalism, which he calls ...

The common operators in figures and arguments

open access: yes, 2017
There are four basic operators common to figurative speech and argumentation—approval, disapproval, and between the two, modification and addition.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

The Role of Different Arguments : Upper Secondary School Students’ Collective Mathematical Reasoning in Algebra

open access: yes
Algebra is a core aspect of mathematics, often functioning as a gatekeeper to further studies in mathematics. Although a well-researched area, we still do not know how students’ algebraic reasoning can vary, including the understanding of the roles of ...

Taxation by Condition: Spectrum Repurposing at the FCC and the Prolonging of Spectrum Exhaust

open access: yes, 2016
In this article, we show how the Federal Communications Commission’s regulatory process may be used by special interests (and the Agency) to impede the efficient functioning of a secondary market for commercial spectrum.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

What Really Matters in Spectrum Allocation Design

open access: yes
Since initiated in the U.S. in July 1994, auctions have replaced "beauty contests" in the assignment of wireless licenses in many countries. Economists have been involved in constructing the competitive bidding mechanisms chosen, and have devoted ...
