Analytical and experimental study of feed rate in high-speed milling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the context of high-speed milling (HSM), during the machining process dynamic machine response has to be identified. To achieve this, we have to calculate the feed rate evolution in linear and circular interpolation according to dynamic performance of

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

The energy–speed–accuracy trade-off in sensory adaptation [PDF]

open access: yesNature Physics, 2012
Adaptation is the essential process by which an organism becomes better suited to its environment. The benefits of adaptation are well documented, but the cost it incurs remains poorly understood. Here, by analysing a stochastic model of a minimum feedback network underlying many sensory adaptation systems, we show that adaptive processes are ...

Lizards lack speed-accuracy trade-offs in a quantitative foraging task when unable to sample the reward. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
To make decisions, animals gather information from the environment in order to avoid costs (e.g., reduced survival) and increase benefits (e.g., foraging success).

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Conducting Web-Based Experiments for Numerical Cognition Research

open access: yesJournal of Cognition, 2019
It is becoming increasingly popular and straightforward to collect data in cognitive psychology through web-based studies. In this paper, I review issues around web-based data collection for the purpose of numerical cognition research.

The Speed–Accuracy Tradeoff as a Subject of Psychological Analysis

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2021
The present research featured the regularities, according to which the accuracy of human movements is associated with the length of these movements and time.

Cognitive dimensions of predator responses to imperfect mimicry?

open access: yes, 2007
Many palatable insects, for example hoverflies, deter predators by mimicking well-defended insects such as wasps. However, for human observers, these flies often seem to be little better than caricatures of wasps – their visual appearance and ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.
