Identification of Spermatogenic Cells Expressing Protamine mRNA in Japanese Quail by RT-PCR
This study was conducted by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis to determine when the protamine mRNA is expressed in testicular germ cells during spermatogenesis in quail.

Clinical efficacy of spermatid conception: analysis using a new spermatid classification scheme [PDF]
Fertilization and pregnancy outcomes of 50 round spermatid injection (ROSI) and 20 elongated spermatid injection (ELSI) treatment cycles are related to various characteristics of the cycles, with particular reference to spermatid developmental stage as assessed by using a classification scheme adapted to this purpose.

D‐limonene supplementation enhances testicular recovery following orchiopexy in a rat model of bilateral cryptorchidism. Treatment with D‐limonene reduces oxidative stress (↓MDA, ↑SOD, ↑GPx, ↑TAC), downregulates pro‐apoptotic proteins (↓TNF‐α, ↓BAX, ↓Caspase‐3), and upregulates anti‐apoptotic Bcl‐2 expression.

Identification of genetic networks that act in the somatic cells of the testis to mediate the developmental program of spermatogenesis. [PDF]
Spermatogenesis is a dynamic developmental process requiring precisely timed transitions between discrete stages. Specifically, the germline undergoes three transitions: from mitotic spermatogonia to spermatocytes, from meiotic spermatocytes to ...

Abstract Stenopodidea represents one of the basal lineages within Pleocyemata, yet the male reproductive system (MRS) of this group remains poorly understood, with limited information available regarding its morphology and function. This study provides the first detailed description of the MRS in four stenopodidean shrimp species from two families ...

Distinct roles of two myosins in C. elegans spermatid differentiation.
During spermatogenesis, interconnected haploid spermatids segregate undesired cellular contents into residual bodies (RBs) before detaching from RBs. It is unclear how this differentiation process is controlled to produce individual spermatids or motile ...

Background The ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme HR6B is required for spermatogenesis in mouse. Loss of HR6B results in aberrant histone modification patterns on the trancriptionally silenced X and Y chromosomes (XY body) and on centromeric chromatin in ...

This study delineates the early sex differentiation timeline in the northern snakehead (Channa argus). These findings provide a foundation for future sex‐control breeding in this economically important species. ABSTRACT The northern snakehead (Channa argus) is an economically important aquaculture species in China.

Testis-Specific Bb8 Is Essential in the Development of Spermatid Mitochondria. [PDF]
Mitochondria are essential organelles of developing spermatids in Drosophila, which undergo dramatic changes in size and shape after meiotic division, where mitochondria localized in the cytoplasm, migrate near the nucleus, aggregate, fuse and create the
