Mycophenolate Mofetil Treatment Reduces the Risk of Treatment Escalation Due to Vascular Complications in Limited Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis: Emulation of a Target Trial From the Italian Rheumatology Society SPRING Registry

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

Selective Isolation of Young Cells from Human Corneal Endothelium by the Sphere-Forming Assay

Tissue Engineering - Part C: Methods, 2010
This study aimed to investigate whether a representative adult stem cell/precursor cell isolation method (the sphere-forming assay) could isolate cells with differences of telomere length, telomerase activity, and characteristics reflecting senescence.

Sphere-Forming Assays for Assessment of Benign and Malignant Pancreatic Stem Cells

2012
Sphere-forming assays are an in vitro technique to assay both normal and neoplastic cells for clonogenic growth potential. Currently, the identification of adult progenitors in the pancreas remains an area of intense investigation. The use of sphere-forming assays provides a critical step to identify new cell types in the pancreas that are capable of ...
