Noise Fingerprints as a Quantitative Order Parameter for Polarization‐ and Defect‐Mediated Switching in Hafnia Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low‐frequency noise fingerprints in hafnia ferroelectrics provide a quantitative handle to resolve the long‐standing debate between polarization‐mediated and defect‐mediated switching. By tuning oxygen vacancy density via ALD O3 dose time and applying a physically constrained deconvolution, we extract bias‐resolved current fractions for both mechanisms

A Shear Thickening Colloidal Suspension Functioning via Progressive Impact Jamming with Persistent Lubrication Layer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.

A Microfiber‐Reinforced Janus Hydrogel E‐Skin With Recyclable Feature for Multimodal Sensing and Gender‐Specific Physiological Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hydrogel‐based wearable electronics hold great promise for physiological monitoring in privacy‐sensitive regions. In this study, a polyurethane (PU) microfiber‐reinforced gelatin hydrogel e‐skin is developed, boasting multiple advantages such as ultra‐thinness, high toughness, and long‐term skin conformability.

All Solid Lithium Metal‐Polymer Battery End‐of‐Life: an Investigation of Symmetric, Battery, and Bilayer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the evolution of the lithium (Li)/polymer interface is compared in a realistic pouch cell configuration, either in Li/Li symmetric cell or in full Li/LiFePO4${\rm LiFePO}_4$ batteries thanks to X‐ray micro‐tomography. While Li/Li symmetric cells are the reference cell for probing the interface stability, results demonstrated that the end‐

The Modeling of Bevel Gears Using the Exact Spherical Involute

Journal of Mechanical Design, 1994
The solid modeling of bevel gears has been recognized as a major design challenge. Various approaches have been proposed to approximate the theoretical involute-generated contact surface of bevel gears. As a means to accurately represent contact surfaces of these gears, the exact spherical involute is introduced here.

A kinematic investigation of a spherical involute bevel-geared system

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2010
This study gives an exact definition of the spherical involute curved face and the pitch azimuthal angle of a bevel-geared system. Using the coordinate-transformation method, it derives the kinematic relations between the operating pressure angles, pitch azimuthal angles, operating pitch cone angles, base cone angles, and pitch action angles. An exact
