The problem of a charged conducting spheroid within a coaxial conducting cylinder is solved by a slight variation of the method in J. Appl. Phys. 31, 553 (1960). Errors in the terminal digits of Table I in that paper have been corrected and the table extended.

THE ORTHOMORPHIC PROJECTION OF THE SPHEROID—II
Empire Survey Review, 1946AbstractWe now turn to a question which has received much attention of recent years; the possibility of transforming angular and linear field measures to an orthomorphic projection so that the results of a survey may be computed directly in plane Co-ordinates without having to go through the spheroid at all.

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2011
The equilibrium position of a spherical or prolate spheroidal particle resembling a needle floating at the interface between two immiscible fluids is discussed. A three-dimensional meniscus attached to an a priori unknown contact line at a specified contact angle is established around the particle, imparting to the particle a capillary force due to ...

The potential for a homogeneous spheroid in a spheroidal coordinate system. I. At an exterior point
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1988The explicit expressions of the external potential for a homogeneous spheroid in a rectangular coordinate system have been studied previously by several researchers. Presented here are the simplest forms of the potential in existing expressions, as derived from the reciprocal of the distance between two points expanded with the Legendre functions of ...

Spheroidization and Graphitization
1999Abstract A spheroidized structure, which consists of spherically shaped cementite in a matrix of ferrite, is often desired in the production of steel, whether to improve properties, such as machinability and ductility, or accommodate subsequent hardening treatments.
