Spatiotemporal heterogeneity and dynamic evolution of microglial glucose metabolic reprogramming in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD) is accompanied by persistent disturbances in brain energy metabolism, and microglial glucose metabolic reprogramming constitutes an important link among pathological protein deposition, neuroinflammation, and impaired clearance.

Cannabinoid CB1 Receptor Regulates Spinal Dorsal Horn Synaptic Plasticity in a Mouse Model of Neuropathic Pain through the CB1R/SREBP1/NAMPT/SIRT1 Metabolic Regulatory Framework

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Background Neuropathic pain is sustained by maladaptive synaptic plasticity in the spinal dorsal horn. Increasing evidence suggests that metabolic regulation is closely linked to synaptic function, as lipid metabolism, membrane microdomain organization, NAD+‐dependent signaling, and cellular stress‐response pathways can influence receptor ...

Orchestrating the metastatic symphony: the role of extracellular vesicles in the epithelial–mesenchymal transition and pulmonary niche formation of breast cancer

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 5, Page 2103-2118, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The complexity of breast cancer (BC) lung metastasis lies in the capacity of tumour cells to interact efficiently with distant organs to promote colonisation, a process that involves the sophisticated coordination of inherent cellular plasticity and the remodelling of the distant microenvironment.

Enzymatic Synthesis of a Novel α‐Linolenic Acid‐Enriched Phytoceramide From Perilla Seed Oil and Its Multifunctional Bioactivity in Skin Barrier Repair and Anti‐Aging

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 10, October 2026.
An enzymatically synthesized α‐linolenic acid‐enriched phytoceramide from perilla seed oil (PSO) is presented. This novel ceramide demonstrates potent activation of skin barrier genes in keratinocytes and protection against UVB‐induced extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation in fibroblasts.

Metabolomics Analysis Revealed That SXZ Ameliorates Cognitive Impairment in Naturally Aged Rats by Promoting Glutathione Metabolism and Inhibiting the Ferroptosis Pathway

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 10, October 2026.
In aged rats, 6‐month SXZ treatment reversed spatial memory deficits and preserved hippocampal integrity. Mechanistic assays show that SXZ promotes glutathione metabolism and inhibits ferroptosis via p53/SLC7A11/GPX4 and Keap1/Nrf2/HO‐1 pathways. SXZ is a novel neuroprotective agent against age‐related cognitive decline.
