We report a new thiolate‐reactive α,α‐gem‐dibromo lactam warhead that activates transcription factor Nrf2 and demonstrates anti‐inflammatory activities, which have implications in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular diseases. RNA‐seq illuminated detailed transcriptional profiles, and chemical reactions with cysteine‐containing compounds ...

A Central Somatic Transmission Mediates Proprioceptive Facilitation of Muscle Pain
Zhang et al. uncover a novel central mechanism for persistent muscle pain, in which TRPA1 sensitization in MeV proprioceptive neurons enhances somatic secretion. This, in turn, disinhibits descending pain control from neighboring noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons via local GABAergic circuits, thereby promoting inflammatory muscle pain.

During a coronavirus infection, the spike protein undergoes sequential structural transitions triggered by its receptor and the host protease at the interface between the virus and cell membranes, thereby mediating membrane fusion. After receptor binding,

A flexible, ultrathin multi‐channel microelectrode array (MEA) conformally integrated onto a curved slide‐well enables stable electrical interfacing with 3D cardiac organoids. The geometry‐guided self‐alignment allows simultaneous recording of extracellular field potentials and contractile motion from irregular, beating tissues.

SARS‐CoV‐2 Spike Protein‐Derived Cyclic Peptides as Modulators of Spike Interaction with GRP78
AbstractThe human glucose‐regulated protein GRP78 is a human chaperone that translocactes to the cell surface when cells are under stress. Theoretical studies suggested it could be involved in SARS‐CoV‐2 virus entry to cells. In this work, we used in vitro surface plasmon resonance‐based assays to show that human GRP78 indeed binds to SARS‐CoV‐2 spike ...

The Role of Ionic Liquids at the Biological Interfaces in Bioelectronics
Ionic liquids (ILs) are highlighted as key artificial ionic materials that bridge biological ion‐based signaling and electronic devices. By understanding their composition, structure, function relationships, and mechanisms, ILs can advance from high performance electrolyte to core materials enabling integrated, multifunctional bioelectronics for ...
