While the use of nanopesticides in modern agriculture continues to increase, their effects on crop plants are still poorly understood. Here, 4 week old spinach plants grown in an artificial medium were exposed via foliar spray to Cu(OH)2 nanopesticide (0.

Instrumental distortions in quantum optimal control [PDF]
Quantum optimal control methods, such as gradient ascent pulse engineering (GRAPE), are used for precise manipulation of quantum states. Many of those methods were pioneered in magnetic resonance spectroscopy where instrumental distortions are often negligible. However, that is not the case elsewhere: the usual jumble of cables, resonators, modulators,

Interactions of rare earth elements with living organisms and emerging biotechnical applications
Rare earth elements (REEs) are critical resources required to achieve net‐zero carbon emission targets and energy security. However, rising demand for REEs coupled with significant extraction and processing challenges and geopolitical risks restricts access to REE resources.

Activation of Caged Functional RNAs by An Oxidative Transformation. [PDF]
RNAs containing 2‐thiouridine (2sUrd) in place of uridine (Urd) can exhibit loss of function. Treatment with hydrogen peroxide can convert 2sUrd to Urd. We show that a 2sUrd‐containing aptamer and ribozyme can exhibit recovery of function upon treatment with hydrogen peroxide, allowing for redox‐switched functional behavior.

An enzyme involved in vitamin B2 biosynthesis, 3,4‐dihydroxy‐2‐butanone‐4‐phosphate synthase (DHBPS), was identified as the target of the natural product phosphonothrixin, representing a novel mode of action for herbicides. Abstract BACKGROUND In our ongoing search for new and environmentally friendly chemical entities that can control weeds via new ...

Deep Learning with unsupervised data labeling for weeds detection on UAV images [PDF]
In modern agriculture, usually weeds control consists in spraying herbicides all over the agricultural field. This practice involves significant waste and cost of herbicide for farmers and environmental pollution. One way to reduce the cost and environmental impact is to allocate the right doses of herbicide at the right place and at the right time ...
