Age‐associated accumulation of RAB9 disrupts oocyte meiosis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 2025.
This study showed that RAB9 protein accumulates in old human and mouse oocytes. RAB9 accumulation disrupted spindle formation, chromosome alignment and actin cap formation, increased ROS levels, decreased mitochondrial membrane potential, ATP content, mtDNA/nDNA ratio and activated the PINK1‐PARKIN pathway. Importantly, knockdown of RAB9 in old oocytes

Ovarian Endometrioma Disrupts Oocyte‐Cumulus Communication and Mitochondrial Function, With Melatonin Mitigating the Effects

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 4, April 2025.
Diagram illustrating the impact of OEM on oocyte‐cumulus communication, showing reduced TZPs, mitochondrial dysfunction, increased oxidative stress, DNA damage, and apoptosis. Melatonin (MLT) treatment improves communication, enhances mitochondrial function, reduces DNA damage, and restores oocyte quality, offering insights into potential therapeutic ...

The property of larval cells of the scleractinian coral, Acropora tenuis, deduced from in vitro cultured cells

open access: yesDevelopment, Growth &Differentiation, Volume 67, Issue 3, Page 119-135, April 2025.
Using antibodies raised against in vitro cultured cells, we determined the property of coral larval cells. Neuronal cells, ectoderm cells, and endoderm cells were characterized. Abstract In previous studies, we have established approximately 15 cultured cell‐lines derived from planula larvae of Acropora tenuis.

Selected topics from the theory of intersections of balls [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this survey, we discuss volumetric and combinatorial results concerning (mostly finite) intersections or unions of balls (mostly of equal radii) in the $d$-dimensional real vector space, mostly equipped with the Euclidean norm. Our first topic is the Kneser-Poulsen Conjecture, according to which if a finite number of unit balls are rearranged so ...

Structural insights into the interplay between microtubule polymerases, γ-tubulin complexes and their receptors

open access: yesNature Communications
The γ-tubulin ring complex (γ-TuRC) is a structural template for controlled nucleation of microtubules from α/β-tubulin heterodimers. At the cytoplasmic side of the yeast spindle pole body, the CM1-containing receptor protein Spc72 promotes γ-TuRC ...

Targeting the SPC25/RIOK1/MYH9 Axis to Overcome Tumor Stemness and Platinum Resistance in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science
In epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), platinum resistance, potentially mediated by cancer stem cells (CSCs), often leads to relapse and treatment failure. Here, the role of spindle pole body component 25 (SPC25) as a key determinant promoting stemness and ...

DRIP: Discriminative Rotation-Invariant Pole Landmark Descriptor for 3D LiDAR Localization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In 3D LiDAR-based robot self-localization, pole-like landmarks are gaining popularity as lightweight and discriminative landmarks. This work introduces a novel approach called "discriminative rotation-invariant poles," which enhances the discriminability of pole-like landmarks while maintaining their lightweight nature. Unlike conventional methods that

Protein interactors of Spindle Pole Body (SPB) components and septal proteins in fungus Neurospora crassa: A mass spectrometry-based dataset

open access: yesData in Brief
Microtubule Organizing Centers (MTOC) are subcellular structures in eukaryotic cells where nucleation of microtubules (MTs) takes place and represents the filament's minus end.
