SLC2A3‐Mediated Lactate Metabolism Promotes Lung Cancer Bone Metastasis by Modulating P53 Lactylation and Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SLC2A3 derived lactate promotes metastasis through p53 lactylation at K120 and osteoclast differentiation. Pharmacological inhibition of SLC2A3 upregulates PD‐1 expression on CD8+ T cells via lactate induced p53 lactylation, which modulates immune evasion. ABSTRACT Bone metastasis is a devastating consequence of lung cancer.

Passive surgical correction of rigid adult spine deformities to normative alignment and balance

open access: yesScientific Reports
Realizing an age-adjusted correction in adult spine deformities (ASD) is demanding. We focus on rigid ASD patients requiring three-column osteotomies (TCO) and analyze the capability to obtain a normative alignment.

Sirt3 Genetically Engineered Apoptotic Bodies Alleviate Skeletal Aging by Limiting Aggravated NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation of Senescent Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The senescence of macrophages leads to a decrease in the expression of Sirtuin3 (Sirt3), which in turn aggravates the NLRP3 inflammasome activation and IL‐1β secretion, thereby promoting the aging‐related osteoporosis. Sirt3‐enriched apoptotic bodies (ABs‐Sirt3) generated through genetic editing approaches can alleviate skeletal aging by targeting ...

Machine learning integration of multi-modal radiomics and clinical factors predicts refracture risk after percutaneous kyphoplasty in postmenopausal women

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study explores the use of radiomic features extracted from preoperative T2-weighted MRI and CT images, combined with machine learning models, to predict the risk of vertebral refracture after percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) in postmenopausal women ...

A Non‐Mitophagy Activity of BNIP3L/NIX in Amygdala Glutamatergic Neurons is Essential for Contextual Fear Memory Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Contextual fear conditioning induces BNIP3L‐dependent mitochondrial fission in glutamatergic neurons of the BLA, independently of mitophagy. Loss of BNIP3L elevates Drp1Ser637 phosphorylation, thereby suppressing mitochondrial fission, compromising ATP production, and attenuating excitatory synaptic transmission.

Gram‐Scale Synthesis of Hafnium‐Rich Carbon Dots for Preclinical Computed Tomography Imaging Across Various Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hafnium (Hf)‐rich carbon dots (Hf‐rCDs) with high metal content (40.7%) and robust batch production capacity (>2 g per batch) are synthesized via a facile air‐assisted pyrolysis method. In vivo CT imaging demonstrates outstanding performance of Hf‐rCDs across multiple physiological systems and enables high‐resolution visualization of swine cervical ...

Genetic Diagnosis and Discovery Enabled by Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that large language models (LLMs) can facilitate genetic diagnosis and discovery. LLMs were used to solve four types of genetic problems of sequentially increased complexity. An LLM‐based pipeline could analyze genetic variants in the genomic sequences of human hearing loss or rare genetic disease patients and assist in identifying ...
