Specific endotoxic lipopolysaccharide-binding proteins on murine splenocytes. I. Detection of lipopolysaccharide-binding sites on splenocytes and splenocyte subpopulations.

The Journal of Immunology, 1988
Abstract Experiments have been carried out using a unique radio-iodinated, disulfide-reducible, photoactivatable LPS derivative (ASD-LPS) to detect specific LPS-binding proteins on murine splenocytes. Fractionation of LPS-photo-cross-linked, reduced, and solubilized splenocyte extracts on two-dimensional polyacrylamide gels has allowed ...

Regulation of ERK2 phosphorylation by histamine in splenocytes

Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, 2011
Histamine is implicated in allergic disease and asthma and ERK1/2 is involved in allergic inflammation including Th2 differentiation and proliferation. This study was designed to study the effects of histamine on ERK1/2 phosphorylation in splenocytes.

Translocatable estrogen receptors in rat splenocytes

Life Sciences, 1986
Estradiol has previously been shown to suppress the response of the cellular immune system of the rat while enhancing the production of IgM antibodies. Analysis of the cytosol from rat splenocytes showed saturation of specific binding sites at concentrations of between 80 and 160 nM [3H]-estradiol with an approximate Kd of 12 nM.

Immunomodulations of thymocytes and splenocytes in trained rats

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1991
The aim of this study was to describe the effects of training (running) on thymus and spleen cells in the rat. Young Wistar control rats (n = 6), rats trained for 4 wk (n = 5), and rats trained for 4 wk followed by 1 wk of intensive training (3 h/day, n = 6) were studied.

Stimulation of murine splenocytes by melatonin and methoxytryptamine

Journal of Neural Transmission, 1993
Male C57 mice kept under a 14:10 (L:D) photoperiod received vehicle (VEH), melatonin (MEL) and methoxytryptamine (MTA) in the drinking water for 2 weeks. Splenocytes from MEL-treated mice showed an augmented mitogenic response to concanavalin A and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) while splenocytes from MTA-treated mice demonstrated an enhanced mitogenic ...

Regulation of murine splenocyte responses by heparan sulfate

The Journal of Immunology, 1991
Abstract Heparan sulfate is a biologically active glycosaminoglycan found in abundance in endothelium, epithelium, and connective tissues. Although heparan sulfate is an important part of the environment in which immune cells function, its effects on the immune system are largely unknown.
