Induction of Oral Tolerance in Splenocyte-Reconstituted SCID Mice

Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1998
The participation of each lymphocyte compartment in the induction of oral tolerance for antibody response was investigated by means of a new cell-transfer experimental system, using severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice. Various lymphocyte compartments from BALB/c mice were transferred into SCID mice and these mice were evaluated for oral ...

Use of the cytokinesis-block micronucleus method in mouse splenocytes

Mutation Research Letters, 1991
Mouse splenocytes have been used in the cytokinesis-block method for the evaluation of micronuclei induced by mutagenic agents in vitro as well as in vivo. Stimulation with concanavalin A for 48 h followed by 16-24-h treatment with 5 micrograms/ml cytochalasin B was found to be an optimum condition to obtain micronuclei in the binucleated splenocytes ...

Regulation of hamster splenocyte reactivity to concanavalin a during pregnancy

Cellular Immunology, 1980
Abstract The survival to term of mammalian fetuses regardless of their expression of paternal or embryonic developmental antigens suggests that some alteration in the immune capabilities of a female occur during pregnancy. The immunocompetence of female Syrian golden hamsters during pregnancy was investigated with respect to the blastogenic response ...

Specific binding of (+)-3H-SKF 10047 by mouse splenocytes

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1987
Stereoselective, saturable, reversible and temperature-dependent binding of ligand of sigma opioid receptors (+)-3H-SKF 10047 to mouse splenocytes has been demonstrated. The estimated Kd value of this interaction (20-100 nM) was similar to that of (+)-3H-SKF 10047-sigma receptor complex. The binding capacity was 100 molecules per cell.

Sera Fatty Acid Effects on Cultured Rat Splenocytes

The Journal of Nutrition, 1983
Rats were fed either a stock diet or purified diets containing either 10% by weight corn oil or linseed oil for 8 weeks. Splenocytes from rats on the stock ration were cultured for 48 hours in media containing either serum from the rats fed stock diet, corn oil or linseed oil, or fetal bovine serum (FBS).

Primary in vitro stimulation of antibody production by lizard splenocytes

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 1988
Single-cell suspensions of adult lizard (Chalcides ocellatus) spleen have been induced, in vitro, to produce a primary immune response. Using rat red cells (RRBC) as antigen and the culture conditions normally used in most vertebrate species but new for reptilia, it has been found that, in vitro at 37 degrees C, lizard spleen cells produce an antibody ...

Evaluation of Mitochondrial Respiratory Function in Murine Splenocytes

Accumulated evidence has demonstrated a key role of mitochondria in the onset and progression of autoimmune disease. Understanding and modulation of mitochondrial dysfunction could provide new molecular targets for both preventive and therapeutic intervention in disease management.

Effect of chondroitin sulfate on murine splenocytes sensitized with ovalbumin

Immunology Letters, 2002
Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a glycosaminoglycan that is widely present in animals organisms, and it has anti-inflammatory and chondroprotective properties. To examine the effects of CS on the immune system, splenocytes obtained from ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized BALB/c mice were challenged with OVA in the presence of CS, and cytokine levels in the medium ...

Efficient hybridoma production using previously frozen splenocytes

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1988
Splenocytes from immunized mice and rats can be frozen, thawed, and fused with myeloma cells to generate monoclonal antibody-secreting hybridoma cell lines. The hybridoma yield per splenocyte is comparable to, and often better than, the yield when fresh splenocytes are used.

[Effect of recipient mouse splenocytes taken orally by donor mouse on GVHD after splenocyte transplantation].

Zhongguo shi yan xue ye xue za zhi, 2010
This study was aimed to explore whether the GVHD in mice can be ameliorated and the GVL effect in mice can be reserved by transfusion of lymphocytes of donors fed with recipient splenocytes effect. Male (DBA-2) mice (H-2(d)) as donors were fed with BALB/c splenocytes, DBA-2 splenocytes, bovine serum albumin, or regular chow, every other day.
