Mitogenicity of thrombin and surface alterations on mouse splenocytes
Experimental Cell Research, 1976Abstract Splenocyte cultures prepared from BALB/c mice can be stimulated to DNA synthesis by thrombin and trypsin but not by bovine serum. The stimulation by thrombin as a function of concentration of the enzyme is the same in the presence or absence of serum, whereas lower concentrations of trypsin are not mitogenic if combined with serum.

Glycogen regulation in LPS-stimulated murine splenocytes
Experimental Cell Research, 1984Enzymatic glycogen regulation in mouse splenocytes cultured in vitro with and without LPS, was studied from 0-72 h. Increased [3H]glucose uptake and hexokinase activity demonstrated the activation of cells treated with LPS. There was a greater time-dependent increase of cellular glycogen content in LPS-stimulated cells as compared to control.
