On thin plate spline interpolation
We present a simple, PDE-based proof of the result [M. Johnson, 2001] that the error estimates of [J. Duchon, 1978] for thin plate spline interpolation can be improved by $h^{1/2}$.

Cognitive Trajectories from Preclinical Alzheimer's Disease to Dementia
A continuous, multi‐domain characterization of cognitive decline across the Alzheimer's disease spectrum identifies when individual cognitive measures become abnormal. Episodic memory declines first, followed by executive function, language, processing speed, and visuospatial abilities, supporting improved clinical interpretation and optimized endpoint

A rational cubic spline with tension [PDF]
A rational cubic spline curve is described which has tension control parameters for manipulating the shape of the curve. The spline is presented in both interpolatory and rational B-spline forms, and the behaviour of the resulting representations is ...

Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...

Splines in convex sets under constraints of two‐sided inequality type in a hyperplane
The problem of minimization of a smoothing functional under inequality constraints is considered in a hyperplane. The conditions of the existence of a solution are obtained and some properties of this solution are investigated.

Mild Focal Cooling Decouples Dendrites to Reconfigure Cortical Output
Mild cooling of the cortical surface selectively modulates apical dendritic excitability, plasticity, and somato‐dendritic coupling, while uncoupling these effects from basal dendrites, and reshapes apical‐driven responses in barrel cortex during whisker touch.
