Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Targeted principle component analysis: A new motion artifact correction approach for near-infrared spectroscopy [PDF]
As near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) broadens its application area to different age and disease groups, motion artifacts in the NIRS signal due to subject movement is becoming an important challenge. Motion artifacts generally produce signal fluctuations
