Iterative Scheme for Split Variational Inclusion and a Fixed-Point Problem of a Finite Collection of Nonexpansive Mappings

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
This article is aimed at introducing an iterative scheme to approximate the common solution of split variational inclusion and a fixed-point problem of a finite collection of nonexpansive mappings.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Backflow Correlations for the Electron Gas and Metallic Hydrogen

open access: yes, 2003
We justify and evaluate backflow-threebody wavefunctions for a two component system of electrons and protons. Based on the generalized Feynman-Kacs formula, many-body perturbation theory, and band structure calculations, we analyze the use and the ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Convergence Theorems for Common Solutions of Split Variational Inclusion and Systems of Equilibrium Problems

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, the split variational inclusion problem (SVIP) and the system of equilibrium problems (EP) are considered in Hilbert spaces. Inspired by the works of Byrne et al., López et al., Moudafi and Thukur, Sobumt and Plubtieng ...

Application of Hierarchical Matrix Techniques To The Homogenization of Composite Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we study numerical homogenization methods based on integral equations. Our work is motivated by materials such as concrete, modeled as composites structured as randomly distributed inclusions imbedded in a matrix.

Approximation schemes for the study of multi-band Gutzwiller wave functions

open access: yes, 2016
The minimum of the Gutzwiller energy functional depends on the number of parameters considered in the variational state. For a three-orbital Hubbard model we find that the frequently used diagonal Ansatz is very accurate in high-symmetry situations.

Iterative Algorithm of Split Monotone Variational Inclusion Problem for New Mappings

open access: yesKragujevac Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we developed a new type iterative scheme to approximate a common solution of split monotone variational inclusion, variational inequality and fixed point problems for an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings in the framework of Hilbert spaces.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
