Data_Sheet_2_Comprehensive identification of key compounds in different quality grades of soy sauce-aroma type baijiu by HS-SPME-GC-MS coupled with electronic nose.xlsx

open access: yes, 2023
In the production of soy sauce-aroma type baijiu (SSAB), the quality of base liquor significantly affects the finished liquor’s quality. Moreover, low-quality liquor may cause health problems.

The Emerging Short Chain Fatty Acid Enriched Metabotype in Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Its Potential Clinical Relevance

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
In a cohort of IBS‐D patients recruited to the TRITON study, faecal metabolomic profiling reveals a SCFA‐enriched metabotype associated with increased pain and urgency, altered stool characteristics and accelerated intestinal transit. ABSTRACT Background Metabolomic analysis in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has identified metabotypes enriched in ...

Implementation of SPME and Rapid GC-MS as a Screening Approach for Forensic Fire Debris Applications

open access: yes, 2023
Analysis of ignitable liquids in fire debris samples can be a time-consuming process, from extraction of volatile compounds to instrumental analysis. Rapid gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is a screening technique that can be utilized prior ...

Solid-phase microextraction for analysis of mould cheese aroma

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2006
Solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography was used for the analysis of volatile aroma compounds in Niva cheese. The extraction conditions were very mild, which minimises thermal, mechanical, or chemical modification of the sample; the ...

Two Metschnikowia nectar yeast species have similar volatile profiles but elicit differential foraging in bee pollinators

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
Yeasts that specialize in flower nectar play an important role in pollination ecology. Metschnikowia reukaufii and Metschnikowia koreensis were the most prevalent nectar yeasts found in our field sites. Bee pollinators exhibited different behavioural responses to nectar yeasts in field experiments. Bees visited more flowers with M.

Mikroekstrakcija u čvrstoj fazi (SPME) u određivanju ostataka pesticida u uzorcima zemljišta [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The basic principles and application possibilities of the methods based on solid phase microextraction (SPME) in the analysis of pesticide residues in soil samples are presented in the paper. The most important experimental parameters which affect SPME

Do aphid endosymbiotic bacteria influence parasitoid searching behaviour through changes in aphid honeydew production?

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
Hamiltonella defensa infection increases honeydew production in certain aphid genotypes, potentially modifying aphid feeding behaviour. Parasitoid wasps, Aphidius ervi, are more attracted to honeydew from H. defensa‐infected aphids; though larger honeydew amounts may slightly deter searching.

Thermogenesis‐derived spatiotemporal microclimates guide pollinator movement to ensure pollination

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Alocasia odora's microclimatic heterogeneity guides Colocasiomyia fly movement within its inflorescence. During the female stage, midday heat in the upper spadix pushes flies down to the cooler female zone. During the male stage, nocturnal warmth in the upper part pulls flies upward and spathe constriction closes the lower female chamber.
