Antiviral ellagitannins from Spondias mombin
Phytochemistry, 1991Two ellagitannins with antiviral properties were isolated from the leaves and stems of Spondias mombin by means of a bioguided assay. Geraniin, the main component, and galloylgeraniin, a new didehydroellagitannin, showed pronounced antiviral activity against Coxsackie and Herpes simplex viruses.
