Spontaneous Chemiluminescence of Soybean Embryonic Axes during Imbibition [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1984
Isolated soybean (Glycine max L. var Hood) embryonic axes have a spontaneous chemiluminescence (about 150 counts per minute per embryo) that increases showing two phases, upon water imbibition. The first photoemission burst was measured between 0 and 7 hours of imbibition with a maximum of about 350 counts per minute per embryo after 2 hours.

Palatable‐Food–Driven Top‐Down Circuit Inhibits PVNCRF Activity to Mitigate Stress Via Peri‐PVNCRFR1 Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

Mesoporous N,S‐Dual‐Doped Carbon Nanoreactors via Entropy‐Driven Interface Self‐Assembly for Efficient H2O2 Electrosynthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An entropy‐driven interface self‐assembly strategy is proposed for the controllable synthesis of mesoporous N,S‐dual‐doped carbon nanoreactors. The N,S‐dual‐doping sites optimized the *OOH adsorption, boosting the 2e− selectivity, while the favorable mesostructure accelerated O2 enrichment.

Inhibitory Decay and Supercritical Brain Dynamics During Sleep Deprivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep deprivation progressively shifts human brain dynamics from near‐critical toward supercritical states, as revealed by neuronal avalanche analysis of resting‐state fMRI. These changes track subjective sleep pressure rather than vigilance lapses and show marked network heterogeneity. A circuit model suggests that reduced inhibitory efficacy provides

Spatial and Temporal Quantification of Spontaneous Imbibition

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
AbstractSpontaneous imbibition—the process of a wetting fluid displacing a nonwetting fluid purely by capillary forces—is a ubiquitous phenomenon in porous and fibrous materials. Here we present a new experimental method for quantification of spontaneous imbibition in geologic materials.

ABHD17C‐Mediated S‐Depalmitoylation of BCL6B Enhances CD24 Transcription to Resist Macrophage Phagocytosis in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABHD17C‐mediated depalmitoylation of BCL6B at Cys442 blocks its nuclear import and triggers ubiquitin‐dependent degradation, attenuating transcriptional repression of the anti‐phagocytic signal CD24. This mechanism enables pancreatic cancer cells to evade macrophage phagocytosis and fosters an immunosuppressive microenvironment.

Pore‐scale visualization and quantitative analysis of the spontaneous imbibition based on experiments and micro‐CT technology in low‐permeability mixed‐wettability rock

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2020
The pore‐scale imbibition mechanism in fractured water‐wetted reservoirs has been acknowledged as an efficient tool to enhance oil recovery. Most rock in a natural reservoir is mixed‐wetted, but most studies on the pore‐scale imbibition process only ...

Impact of Brine Composition and Concentration on Capillary Pressure and Residual Oil Saturation in Limestone Core Samples [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
Low salinity water flooding (LSF) is a relatively simple and cheap EOR technique in which the salinit y of the injected water is optimized (by desalination and/or modification) to improve oil recovery over conventional waterflooding. Extensive laboratory

Experimental study on the influence of pore structure on spontaneous imbibition in marine black shale [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Recently, significant progress has been made in the exploration of marine shale gas in the Qiongzhusi Formation of the Sichuan Basin, China. Micro/nanopores within this formation play a crucial role in spontaneous imbibition and subsequent shale gas ...

SSR4 sustains Tertiary Lymphoid Structures by Regulation Quality Control of N‐linked Glycosylation During B‐cell Differentiation Into Plasmacyte in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SSR4, a TRAP component induced in B cells, governs BAFFR N‐glycosylation via DDOST to sustain NF‐κB signaling, B‐cell differentiation, and TLS maturation. Its loss impairs anti‐tumor immunity, while overexpression improves antibody glycosylation and ADCC, revealing a critical regulator for cancer immunotherapy.
