GLS1 Orchestrates Exosome‐Mediated Tumor‐Endothelial Communication to Facilitate Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a previously unappreciated, non‐metabolic function of GLS1 in the control of tumor angiogenesis via exosome‐mediated CAV1‐TNC signaling, indicating that therapeutic targeting of GLS1 may offer a dual benefit by simultaneously suppressing tumor metabolic activity and angiogenic processes in head and neck cancer. ABSTRACT Glutaminase 1

Rewiring NADH Metabolism Through NQO1‐Mediated Redox Cycling for Targeted Follicular Lymphoma Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Follicular lymphoma (FL) remains an incurable B‐cell malignancy with high relapse rates, and conventional therapies are often limited by significant toxicity, highlighting the need for novel treatments. We identified that FL exhibits markedly low expression of NAD(P)H: quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1), a key enzyme required for activating ...

seed lectin inhibits oral squamous cell carcinoma tumorigenesis by suppressing N6-methyladenosine modification–mediated SRY-box transcription factor 2 expression

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research
Objective Studies have indicated that combining Maackia amurensis seed lectin with first-line chemotherapeutic agents enhances the efficacy of treatment for oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Histopathological Diagnostic Discordance between Punch Biopsies and Final Diagnostic Excisions of Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Analysis of 737 Cases

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica
The recommended treatment for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is surgical excision. An initial punch biopsy is often performed as an aid to diagnosis.

Targeting PLD3 Reverses the Immunosuppressive Niche by Reprogramming Tumor‐Associated Macrophages and Potentiates Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PLD3 activates the lysosomal‐AKT‐NF‐κB axis to drive cellular senescence in macrophages, establishing an immunosuppressive TME by limiting the infiltration of cytotoxic T, NK, and NKT cells, which confers resistance to anti‐PD‐1 therapy. Abrine inhibits PLD3 expression, restoring antitumor immunity and synergizing with anti‐PD‐1 treatment.

Underrepresentation of Black Individuals in Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinoma Clinical Trials: A Comparison to an Insurance Claimant Cohort

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice
Background Black patients often present with advanced skin cancer with worse outcomes compared to White patients. Underrepresentation of Black individuals in US basal cell carcinoma and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma clinical trials may exacerbate ...

Bandgap‐Engineered PtxTey:Ag2Te Composite Quantum Dots Enable Programmable NIR‐II Imaging and Photothermal‐Immune Synergistic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bandgap‐engineered PtxTey:Ag2Te quantum dot platform enables tunable NIR‐IIb emission for deep‐tissue imaging and mild photothermal therapy. Conjugation with αPD‐L1 confers dual tumor targeting and real‐time monitoring of PD‐L1 dynamics. Mild photothermal modulation induces immune reprogramming, enhancing checkpoint blockade efficacy and achieving ...

Noninvasive Characterization of Tumor Heterogeneity in HNSCC: From Clinical Utility to Biological Correlates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes a CT‐based radiomics framework to quantify intratumoral heterogeneity (ITH) in HNSCC. Using unsupervised clustering, tumor ROIs and VOIs are analyzed to calculate 2D/3D ITH scores. The score shows strong predictive value for prognosis and immunotherapy response, and is associated with tumor metabolism and immune microenvironment,

Squamous cell carcinoma associated with tall cell variant of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2010
We report the simultaneous occurrence of the tall cell variant of papillary carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma in the thyroid gland. Histology and immunohistochemical findings are discussed and it seems that the malignant squamous component was ...

Nucleic Acid Therapeutics for “Undruggable” Cancer Targets: Mechanisms, Challenges, and Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nucleic acid therapeutics bypass the structural limitations of conventional drugs by targeting mRNA rather than proteins. This review examines how antisense oligonucleotides, siRNAs, miRNAs, aptamers, and mRNA vaccines intervene against historically undruggable oncoproteins including Ras, MYC, and p53, highlighting mechanistic advances, delivery ...
