Effect of tumor microenvironment on pathogenesis of the head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: a systematic review

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2019
The tumor microenvironment (TME) is comprised of many different cell populations, such as cancer-associated fibroblasts and various infiltrating immune cells, and non-cell components of extracellular matrix.

Ultraviolet Light Carcinogenesis In Hairless Mice: Cell Kinetics During Induction And Progression Of Squamous Cell Carcinoma As Estimated By The Double-Labeling Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1935
The double-labeling method for studying cell cycle kinetics was applied to uninvolved epidermis of hairless mice (irradiated and unirradiated), and at various stages of ultraviolet light (UVL)-induced squamous cell carcinoma. The growth fraction (GF) was

Indoleamine 2,3‐dioxygenase 1 inhibition reverses cancer‐associated fibroblast‐mediated immunosuppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CAF‐mediated immunosuppression in ovarian cancer is driven by IDO1, reducing T‐cell function. Inhibiting IDO1 restores T‐cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, increases cancer cell apoptosis, and may help overcome CAF‐induced immune suppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Targeting IDO1 may improve antitumor immunity.

Case series: Rapidly growing squamous cell carcinoma after cutaneous surgical intervention

open access: yesJPRAS Open, 2017
The development of squamous cell carcinoma in sites of split skin graft harvest is a rare complication with only 12 documented cases in the literature. The growth of squamous cell carcinoma after arterial puncture is a rarer phenomenon, with no previous ...

Integrative analyses of transcriptome sequencing identify novel functional lncRNAs in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have a critical role in cancer initiation and progression, and thus may mediate oncogenic or tumor suppressing effects, as well as be a new class of cancer therapeutic targets. We performed high-throughput sequencing of RNA
