Crystals of the C-terminal domain of the adenovirus single-stranded DNA binding protein (DBP) in complex with the single-stranded oligonucleotide (dT)16 have been obtained by a batch method from material obtained by chymotryptic digest of full-length DBP. The colorless crystals grow as hexagonal prisms to a maximal size of approximately 0.85 x 0.55 x 0.

Bioelectrochemistry, 2008
In this work, the complex cadmium(II)-morin was synthesized and its interaction with double-stranded salmon sperm DNA was studied by electrochemical methods on glassy carbon electrode (GCE). It was shown that Cd(II)-Morin with high electrochemical activity can intercalate into the double-helix DNA, and the binding stoichiometry and equilibrium ...

Colorimetric detection of ssDNA in a solution
Current Applied Physics, 2009Abstract A solution containing ssDNA was detected by using colloidal gold nanoparticles upon a color change of solution. First of all, we prepared colloidal gold nanoparticles with a size of less than 20 nm by means of citrate reduction of HAuCl 4 . Since colloidal gold nanoparticles modified with citrate anions have a negative charge, they are very ...

Counting ssDNA on a single nanoparticle
2008 IEEE Sensors, 2008This paper describes the immobilization and quantification of 15base ssDNA on 250 nm silica nanoparticles. 1 up to 2400 amine functionalized ssDNA are coupled to a carboxyl functionalized nanoparticle using EDC/NHS chemistry. The amount of ssDNA on the nanoparticles is quantified by bulk fluorescence measurements in a microtiterplate reader on both the

Functionalization, re-functionalization and rejuvenation of ssDNA nanotemplates
Chemical Communications, 2012Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) with repetitive sequence was demonstrated to be a versatile nanotemplate for introducing biological activity in a self-assembled manner. Re-functionalization and rejuvenation of the ssDNA nanotemplate were achieved under mild biological conditions without using high temperature and strong alkaline treatment to denature DNA.

The smallest ssDNA phage infecting a marine bacterium
Environmental Microbiology, 2018Summary In the marine environment, only a few lytic single‐stranded DNA (ssDNA) phages have been isolated and characterized, despite the fact that diverse ssDNA bacteriophages have been discovered via metagenomic studies.

Selection and identification of ssDNA aptamers recognizing zearalenone
Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2013Zearalenone (ZEN) is a nonsteroidal estrogenic mycotoxin produced by Fusarium graminearum on maize and barley. Because most current methods of ZEN detection rely on the use of low-stability antibodies or expensive equipment, we sought to develop a rapid, low-cost determination method using aptamers instead of antibodies as the specific recognition ...
