Genomic and Physiological Insights Into Heat–Drought Tolerance in Wheat Through GWAS and Phenotypic Evaluation

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 5511-5529, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Climate change‐driven heat and drought stresses during reproductive stages significantly threaten wheat productivity. To investigate the genetic and physiological basis of combined heat–drought (HD) tolerance, we evaluated 345 wheat genotypes under three environments of HD stresses, non‐stress glasshouse conditions and a late‐sowing field ...

Ibero‐Balearic plant disjunctions: genomic support for rapid and recurrent long‐distance colonizations of the endangered Diplotaxis ibicensis (Brassicaceae) despite no dispersal syndromes

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 1560-1572, August 2026.
Genotyping‐by‐sequencing data reveal six well‐defined clades in the endangered Diplotaxis ibicensis, endemic to the western Mediterranean Basin and indicate rapid and recurrent long‐distance colonisations across the Balearic Islands and the eastern Iberian coast despite the absence of dispersal syndromes.

Predicting Next‐Day Passive Suicidal Ideation in At‐Risk Youth

open access: yesSuicide and Life-Threatening Behavior, Volume 56, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Passive suicidal ideation (SI) is a well‐established risk factor for suicidal behavior but has received less attention than active SI. Although recent work has leveraged intensive longitudinal data and machine learning (ML) to forecast short‐term risk for active SI, passive SI remains understudied as a prediction target.

Ventricular‐vascular coupling at rest and immediately following maximal exercise in adults with and without multiple sclerosis

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 15, August 2026.
Abstract Multiple sclerosis (MS) may impair ventricular‐vascular coupling (VVC), a measure of the interaction between the cardiac and vascular systems. We evaluated if VVC differed between individuals with and without MS with similar age‐predicted fitness.

A Selective Dispersion–Suppressed Metasurface for Dual‐Polarization and Dual‐Broadband Electromagnetic Window at Large Angles

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 14, 27 July 2026.
In this manuscript, we propose to suppress the metasurface's undesired dispersion to widen its working range, while preserving the desired one to preserve the function. As shown in the figure, through a method of reversed superimposition (RS), we have implemented the idea on a metasurface for the dual‐band EM window at large angles (≥ 60°).
