Sex-linked SSR markers in hemp
Plant Breeding, 2005Hemp is a dioecious plant with sex chromosomes X and Y, the male sex being heterogametic. The quality of the fibre depends on the sex type. The sex chromosomes can be characterized by molecular markers. In this report, sex-linked simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers are described.

Cross-transferability of SSR markers in Osmanthus
Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution, 2017Developing a molecular tool kit for hybrid breeding of Osmanthus species and related genera is an important step in creating a systematic breeding program for this species. To date, molecular resources have been aimed solely at Osmanthus fragrans with little work to develop markers for other species and cultivars.

Transferability of rice SSR markers to bamboo
Euphytica, 2010Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers are widely applied in studies of plant molecular genetics due to their abundance in the genome, codominant nature, high repeatability, and transferability in cross-species applications. To investigate the possibility of applying rice SSR markers in bamboo, we selected 120 rice SSR markers that are evenly ...

Development of SSR markers for studies of diversity in the genus Fagopyrum
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2009The numbers of SSR markers and their utilization have not been determined and investigated as extensively in Fagopyrum species as compared to other crop species. The current report presents 136 new SSR markers in Fagopyrum esculentum ssp. esculentum and their application to related species in the genus Fagopyrum.

Applicability of SSR markers to the traceability of monovarietal olive oils
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2011AbstractBACKGROUND: To protect the features and authenticity of food products, the European Commission enforces two certification labels: Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). EEC Regulation No. 510/2006 imposes criteria for labelling, production and commercialisation of olive oil.

DEVELOPMENT OF EST BASED SSR MARKERS FOR GARLIC GENOME
Acta Horticulturae, 2012Although it is time consuming and expensive to develop SSR markers, they have some advantages such as co-dominancy, reproducibility and high amount of polymorphic alleles as a PCR based marker system. For genetic and molecular studies in garlic, generally RAPD and AFLP markers have been utilized.

Transferability of SSR markers among wheat, rye, and triticale
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2003Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers are a valuable tool for many purposes, such as mapping, fingerprinting, and breeding. However, they are only available in some economically important crops because of the high cost and labor intensity involved in their development.

Genetic Diversity in Cultivated Groundnut Based on SSR Markers
Journal of Genetics and Genomics, 2007Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important source crop for edible oil and protein. It is important to identify the genetic diversity of peanut genetic resources for cultivar development and evaluation of peanut accessions. Thirty-four SSR markers were used to assess the genetic variation of four sets of twenty-four accessions each from the four ...

[Strategies for development of SSR molecular markers].
Yi chuan = Hereditas, 2006SSR molecular markers have been used widely in many genetic studies and become one of the most popular molecular markers due to their high polymorphism, abundant informativeness, convenience of assay by PCR and distribution throughout the genome. The major drawback of SSR molecular markers is that their primers need to be designed according to the ...
