The complexation of new complexones, analogues of nitrilotriacetic (H3NTA) and nitrilotrimethylenephosphonic (H6NTP) acids containing monobasic (O-alkyl)methylenephosphonic fragments as donor groups, with trivalent cations of lanthanides was studied. The

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

The validity of the polarographic determination of stability constants of metal ions with adsorbable ligands [PDF]
The validity of the widely used polarographic method for the determination of stability constants is considered for adsorbable ligands. A polarographic study of the stability constants of the lead(II)-halides indicates that results become less reliable ...

IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Dubiner distance and stability of Lebesgue constants [PDF]
Some elementary inequalities, based on the non-elementary notion of Dubiner distance, show that norming sets for multivariate polynomials are stable under small perturbations in such a distance.

Adenosine triphosphate as a modulator of protein interactions and stability
ATP is best known as the cell's energy currency, but it also shapes how proteins fold, interact, aggregate and form biomolecular condensates. This review explains the emerging physical principles behind these effects, including weak binding to charged protein regions, magnesium‐dependent behaviour and concentration‐dependent control of protein ...

The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

A note on the stability of the Cheeger constant of $N$-gons
The regular $N$-gon provides the minimal Cheeger constant in the class of all $N$-gons with fixed volume. This result is due to a work of Bucur and Fragalà in 2014. In this note, we address the stability of their result in terms of the $L^1$ distance between sets. Furthermore, we provide a stability inequality in terms of the Hausdorff distance between
