Characterisation and stability evaluation of bixin nanocapsules

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2013
The aim of this study was to produce bixin nanocapsules by the interfacial deposition of preformed poly-ε-caprolactone (PCL). PCL (250 mg), capric/caprylic triglyceride (400 μL), sorbitan monostearate (95 mg) and bixin were dissolved in a mixture of acetone (60 mL) and ethanol (7.5 mL) under stirring (40 °C).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Evaluation of Slope Stability and Landslide Prevention in a Closed Open-Pit Mine Used for Water Storage

open access: yesApplied Sciences
To study and quantify the impact of water storage on lake slope stability after the closure of an open-pit mine, we targeted slope control measures by large-scale parallel computing methods and strength reduction theory.

Bayesian estimation of one-parameter qubit gates

open access: yes, 2008
We address estimation of one-parameter unitary gates for qubit systems and seek for optimal probes and measurements. Single- and two-qubit probes are analyzed in details focusing on precision and stability of the estimation procedure.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Stability-based model free adaptive control method for trajectory tracking of unmanned mining trucks

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
In the trajectory tracking task of autonomous mining trucks, the terrain information in open-pit mines is intricate and the road surface types are diverse, resulting in a pronounced conflict between tracking accuracy and lateral stability.

Suppression of Subsynchronous Vibration in the SSME HPFTP [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) High Pressure Fuel Turbopump (HPFTP) hot-fire dynamic data evaluation and rotordynamic analysis both confirm that two of the most significant turbopump attributes in determining susceptibility to subsynchronous vibration ...

Stability analysis of polarized domains

open access: yes, 1997
Polarized ferrofluids, lipid monolayers and magnetic bubbles form domains with deformable boundaries. Stability analysis of these domains depends on a family of nontrivial integrals. We present a closed form evaluation of these integrals as a combination

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Multi-source interference suppression for laser gas remote sensing in disaster rescue environments

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
To address the susceptibility of laser gas remote-sensing echo signals to multi-source noise in complex environments such as disaster rescue, which leads to signal-to-noise ratio degradation and insufficient long-term stability, equivalent modeling and ...
