Stabilization of nonlinear systems by qualitative feedback controllers

International Journal of Control, 1995
The paper concerns the problem of stabilising a nonlinear system by means of a controller that has access merely to qualitative state measurements [x(k)] and qualitative control inputs [u(k)]. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a stabilising qualitative controller are given. The results refer merely to the qualitative model of the

Feedback stabilization of distributed parameter systems by a functional observer

1979 18th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1979
Feedback stabilization of unstable parabolic equations is of great interest. The fact that it is not necessarily possible to stabilize the equations by means of static feedback schemes when both observation and control can be realized only through the boundary is illustratively shown by a simple example.

Adaptive stabilization of uncertain nonholonomic systems by output feedback

Journal of Control Theory and Applications, 2008
The adaptive output feedback control strategy is presented for a class of nonholonomic systems in chained form with nonlinearity uncertainties. A new observer and a filter are introduced for the states and parameter estimation. The proposed control strategies guarantee the convergence of the closed-loop system.

Stabilization of nonlinear systems by means of linear feedbacks

2006
Solutions of the stabilizability problem for nonlinear systems are usually supposed to be nonlinear state feedback functions. Despite this common opinion, several examples show that linear stabilizing feedbacks may exist also in the case of nonlinear systems whose linearization is not stabilizable.

Polynomial stabilization of some control systems by smooth feedbacks

2018 European Control Conference (ECC), 2018
In this article we are interested in polynomial stability for dynamical systems. Sufficient Lyapunov condition is given and the example of double integrator on $R^n$ is solved by using two strategies: In the first one we use the backstepping techniques, while in the second we use homogeneous feedback laws with positive degree.

Robust stabilization of nonlinear systems by H∞ state feedback

Systems & Control Letters, 1995
Abstract This paper is concerned with robust stabilization of nonlinear systems with unstructured uncertainty via state feedback. First, a robust stability condition is given for a closed loop system which is composed of a nonlinear nominal system and an unstructured uncertainty.

Semiglobal stabilization of sandwich systems by dynamic output feedback

Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010
We consider the problem of stabilizing a class of sandwich systems, consisting of two linear subsystems connected in cascade by a saturated scalar signal, with partial-state measurement available from the second subsystem only. We present conditions for semiglobal stabilization and demonstrate their sufficiency by explicit construction of a stabilizing

Adaptive Stabilization of Uncertain Nonholonomic Systems by Output Feedback

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2002
Abstract In this paper, output feedback control is presented for a class of nonholonomic systems in chained form with drift nonlinearities and parametric uncertainties. The stabilizing control laws are developed for these systems based on the adaptive backstepping technique with tuning functions.
