Advantages of versatile neural-network decoding for topological codes [PDF]
Finding optimal correction of errors in generic stabilizer codes is a computationally hard problem, even for simple noise models. While this task can be simplified for codes with some structure, such as topological stabilizer codes, developing good and ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Deformations of circle-valued Morse functions on 2-torus
In this paper we give an algebraic description of fundamental groups of orbits of circle-valued Morse functions on T2 with respect to the action of the group of diffeomorphisms of ...

Polymer compositions suitable for use in enriched oxygen atmospheres [PDF]
Three organic polymer systems are based on copolymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene, ethylene, and tin-based flame retardants. Fourth system is copolymer of chlorotrifluorethylene and tetrafluoroethylene.

The compass model on a square lattice provides a natural template for building subsystem stabilizer codes. The surface code and the Bacon-Shor code represent two extremes of possible codes depending on how many gauge qubits are fixed.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Deformation and rigidity of simplicial group actions on trees
We study a notion of deformation for simplicial trees with group actions (G-trees). Here G is a fixed, arbitrary group. Two G-trees are related by a deformation if there is a finite sequence of collapse and expansion moves joining them. We show that this

Quantum picturalism for topological cluster-state computing
Topological quantum computing is a way of allowing precise quantum computations to run on noisy and imperfect hardware. One implementation uses surface codes created by forming defects in a highly-entangled cluster state.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
