Current inversion at the edges of a chiral $\boldsymbol{p}$-wave superconductor

open access: yes, 2014
Motivated by Sr$_2$RuO$_4$, edge quasiparticle states are analyzed based on the self-consistent solution of the Bogolyubov-de Gennes equations for a topological chiral $p$-wave superconductor.

On stable currents in positively pinched curved hypersurfaces [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 2003
Summary: Let \(M^n\) \((n\geq 3)\) be an \(n\)-dimensional complete bypersurface in a real space form \(N(c)\) \((c\geq 0)\). We prove that if the sectional curvature \(K_M\) of \(M\) satisfies the following pinching condition: \(c+\delta< K_M\leq c+1\), where \(\delta=\tfrac 15\) for \(n\geq 4\) and \(\delta =\frac 14\) for \(n=3\), then there are no ...

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Preserving the validity of the Two-Higgs Doublet Model up to the Planck scale

open access: yes, 2015
We examine the constraints on the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) due to the stability of the scalar potential and absence of Landau poles at energy scales below the Planck scale. We employ the most general 2HDM that incorporates an approximately Standard

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Multiple junction biasing of superconducting tunnel junction detectors

open access: yes, 2004
We describe a new biasing scheme for single photon detectors based on superconducting tunnel junctions. It replaces a single detector junction with a circuit of three junctions and achieves biasing of a detector junction at subgap currents without the ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Relative intensity noise of temperature-stable, energy-efficient 980 nm VCSELs

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
The relative intensity noise (RIN) of temperature-stable, energy-efficient oxide confined vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) have been investigated. Low energy consumption data transmission is achieved by using small oxide-aperture diameter

A 3D Wireless Charging Cylinder With Stable Rotating Magnetic Field for Multi-Load Application

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper proposes a 3D wireless charging cylinder with improved compensation topology to generate a stable rotating magnetic field for charging multiple loads around it. The induced voltage of each receiver is kept constant against load variations when

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
