Mapping stacks of topological stacks [PDF]

open access: yesJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 2010
We prove that the mapping stack Map(Y,X) of topological stacks X and Y is again a topological stack if Y admits a compact groupoid presentation. If Y admits a locally compact groupoid presentation, we show that Map(Y,X) is a paratopological stack. In particular, it has a classifying space (hence, a natural weak homotopy type).

Place-based innovation for sustainable and resilient human systems

open access: yesSustainable Earth Reviews
This paper critically examines fail-fast culture and its compatibility with fragile contexts. It argues that to address complex global challenges, a nuanced ‘fail well’ approach is required. Drawing on the Gothenburg innovation ecosystem—among others—the

Proper Stacks

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2007
We generalize the notion of proper stack introduced by Kashiwara and Schapira to the case of a general site, and we prove that a proper stack is a stack.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Acetylcholinesterase enzyme among cancer patients a potential diagnostic and prognostic indicator a multicenter case–control study

open access: yesScientific Reports
Acetylcholinesterase enzyme (AChE) activity is impaired by a variety of inhibitors including organophosphorus pesticides, leading to the accumulation of acetylcholine.

Scientific Opinion on an application (EFSA‐GMO‐NL‐2010‐80) for the placing on the market of herbicide‐tolerant genetically modified maize NK603 × T25 for food and feed uses, import and processing under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 from Monsanto

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2015
Single events NK603 and T25 were combined to produce the stack two‐event maize NK603 × T25. The EFSA GMO Panel previously assessed the two single events and did not identify safety concerns in the context of their scope.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
