Solution‐Shearing of Highly Smooth Ion‐Gel Thin Films: Facilitating the Deposition of Organic Semiconductors for Ion‐Gated Organic Field Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A straightforward method is introduced to produce ion‐gel films with very low surface roughness by employing a solution‐shearing coating process. These ion‐gel films permit the growth of crystalline thin films of various small molecule organic semiconductor molecules directly on top of the ion‐gel layer, thereby enabling “inverted” small molecule ...

Solution‐Processed Bismuth Oxide Iodide/Organic‐Semiconductor Heterojunction for UV–vis‐NIR Photoresponsive Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A phototransistor with high detectivity and long‐term stability under ambient conditions is realized by a layered heterojunction of solution‐processed BiOI and the organic semiconductor DPPDTT. It exhibits a strong photoresponse across the UV to NIR spectrum with a high Ilight/Idark ratio and neuromorphic behavior.

Extreme Enhancement‐Mode Operation Accumulation Channel Hydrogen‐Terminated Diamond FETs with Vth < −6 V and High on‐Current

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrogen‐terminated diamond FETs with an accumulation channel architecture achieve extreme enhancement‐mode operation (Vth < ‐6 V) and high on‐current (> 80 mA mm−1). This is realized by creating a high‐quality H‐diamond surface with an unpinned Fermi level and encapsulating the channel in dual stacks of Al2O3 Improved hole mobility (~ 110 cm2 V−1 s−1)

Pulse Dynamics in Reduced Graphene Oxide Electrolyte‐Gated Transistors: Charge Memory Effects and Mechanisms Governing the Ion‐To‐Electron Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The time‐dependent current response of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) electrolyte‐gated transistors (EGTs) is evaluated via pulsed voltage measurements. A complex interplay between ion entrapment, electrical double‐layer formation, and charge transfer processes is observed.

Aluminum Scandium Nitride as a Functional Material at 1000 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Aluminum scandium nitride (AlScN) exhibits remarkable ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and dielectric stability at extreme temperatures. This study demonstrates the robust performance of TaSi2/AlScN/TaSi2 capacitors up to 1000 °C, revealing a substantial increase in piezoelectricity and a marked reduction in coercive field.

The Role of Thermally Activated Charge Separation in Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Charge separation mechanism in state‐of‐the‐art system has been a part of intense debate. Here, it is presented that as, the system moves toward the low‐offset regime the thermal contribution plays an important role to derive the charge separation. The rational guide is provided to achieve the maximum CSE and maximum VOC simultaneously within the mid ...

Plastic Deformation of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 Single Crystals Caused by Domain Orientation Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The nanoscale mechanisms of Li‐ion deintercalation in battery cathodes, particularly the role of crystallographic defects, remain unclear. Using scanning X‐ray diffraction microscopy and multi‐crystal diffraction, microstrain and lattice misorientations are examined in LMNO cathodes particles during and after cycling.

A Novel Ti12‐Based Metal‐Organic Framework for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
MIP‐209(Ti) is a new microporous MOF built up from Ti₁₂O₁₅ clusters and substituted terephthalate linkers, enabling isoreticular chemistry and clusters tunability for photocatalytic applications. Cr3⁺ doping (≤5 at%) on Ti‐oxoclusters drastically enhances water stability and boosts hydrogen production from water under simulated solar light irradiation.

Can reducing administrative burdens increase benefit amounts? Evidence from SNAP simplified reporting

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract Relaxing administrative burdens can boost enrollment in benefit programs. However, administrative burdens can influence other outcomes of interest. Simplified reporting is a state policy option that reduces the amount of information Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients must report between certifications.
