Experiences and observations with the typing of Staphylococcus aureus phage 94
Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1975During a 28-month period, 5,078 cultures from a variety of anatomical sites were received for staphylococcal phage typing. Of these, 503 (10%) were not suitable for the procedure requested. Of the 4,575 viable cultures, 1,030 (23%) of the microorganisms were nontypable at both the routine test dilution (RTD) and at 100 times RTD.

Staphylococcus Phage Types In a Nursery Epidemic
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1973To the Editor.— A nursery epidemic by phage nontypable Staphylococcus aureus in Cook County Hospital in Chicago and another in our hospital presented an epidemiological problem. Four newborn babies suffered from staphylococcal impetigo in May 1973 in our hospital. Hexachlorophene was not used—even for rinsing the babies.

STAPHYLOCOCCUS PYOGENES PHAGE TYPE IN EPIDEMICS
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1956To the Editor: In a recent epidemic of staphylococcal infections in the newborn nurseries at The Ohio State University Hospital, a single strain of Staphylococcus pyogenes, phage type 42B/47C/44A/52, was found to be responsible for all lesions. A report of this epidemic is to be published in Pediatrics (Shaffer, T. E.; Baldwin, J. N.; Rheins, M.

A New Epidemic Phage Type of Staphylococcus Aureus: I. The Experimental Phage 676
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1971AbstractA new experimental staphylococcal phage 676, belonging to the serological group B, was isolated. It was classified into phage group I on the basis of the range of its lytic activity. Its applicability for phage typing was checked in tests with 7 456 strains of coagulase-positive staphylococci, isolated from various clinical specimens throughout
