An unbiased spectral survey of V883 Ori, an eruptive young star, was carried out with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array in Band 6. The detected line emission from various molecules reveals morphological/kinematical features in both the ...

Dynamics of Aggregation in Systems of Self-Propelled Rods
We highlight camphene–camphor–polypropylene plastic as a useful material for self-propelled objects that show aggregation while floating on a water surface.

ASTROCHEMISTRY OF STAR FORMATION
Star formation is one of the key processes governing the evolution of the Universe. It is accompanied by significant transformations in the chemical composition and the physical state of the interstellar medium. Combining observations in infrared and

On the existence of accretion-driven bursts in massive star formation [PDF]
Accretion-driven luminosity outbursts are a vivid manifestation of variable mass accretion onto protostars. They are known as the so-called FU Orionis phenomenon in the context of low-mass protostars.

Strangulation as the primary mechanism for shutting down star formation in galaxies [PDF]
Local galaxies are broadly divided into two main classes, star-forming (gas-rich) and quiescent (passive and gas-poor). The primary mechanism responsible for quenching star formation in galaxies and transforming them into quiescent and passive systems is

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

A Natural Laboratory for Astrochemistry: The Variable Protostar B335
Emission lines from complex organic molecules in B335 were observed in four epochs, spanning a luminosity burst of about 10 yr duration. The emission lines increased dramatically in intensity as the luminosity increased, but they have decreased only ...

The SILCC project - IV. Impact of dissociating and ionizing radiation on the interstellar medium and Hα emission as a tracer of the star formation rate [PDF]
We present three-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamical simulations of the impact of stellar winds, photoelectric heating, photodissociating and photoionising radiation, and supernovae on the chemical composition and star formation in a stratified disc ...

Plasmodium falciparum gametogenesis essential protein 1 (GEP1) is a transmission‐blocking target
This study shows Plasmodium falciparum GEP1 is vital for activating sexual stages of malarial parasites even independently of a mosquito factor. Knockout parasites completely fail gamete formation even when a phosphodiesterase inhibitor is added. Two single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (V241L and S263P) are found in 12%–20% of field samples.

The Properties of an Edge-On Low Surface Brightness Galaxies Sample
We analyzed the properties of a sample of edge-on low-surface brightness galaxies, which are referred to as Cao23 ELSBGs. Cao23 ELSBGs exhibit a wide range of luminosities (−22 < Mr < −13) with a mean scale length of 3.19 ± 1.48 kpc.
