Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Gas dynamics in the inner few AU around the Herbig B[e] star MWC297 [PDF]
We present near-infrared AMBER (R = 12, 000) and CRIRES (R = 100, 000) observations of the Herbig B[e] star MWC297 in the hydrogen Br-gamma-line. Using the VLTI unit telescopes, we obtained a uv-coverage suitable for aperture synthesis imaging. We interpret our velocity-resolved images as well as the derived two-dimensional photocenter displacement ...

The Kinematics of Star Formation: Theory and Observation in the Gaia Era (Published title 'Star Formation in the Gaia Era') [PDF]
The European Space Agency's Gaia space telescope, launched in 2013, aims to measure the positions, parallaxes, and proper motions of a billion stars in our Galaxy and throughout the Local Group.

High-velocity Stars in SDSS/APOGEE DR17
We report 23 stars having Galactocentric velocities larger than 450 km s-1 in the final data release of the APOGEE survey. This sample was generated using space velocities derived by complementing the high-quality radial velocities from the APOGEE ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Modelling and observations of molecules in discs around young stars [PDF]
This thesis contains a study of molecules within circumstellar discs around young stars. Firstly, the chemistry of a disc around a young, Class 0 protostar is modelled.

Kinematics and dynamics of molecular gas in high redshift quasars
Molecular hydrogen (H2) is a fundamental component of galaxies, being the most abundant element in molecular clouds, where stars form, and an important source of radiative cooling at low temperature. With the advent of the ALMA telescope, we have started

Three-component kinematics of multiple stellar populations in globular clusters with Gaia and VLT [PDF]
The internal dynamics of multiple stellar populations in globular clusters (GCs) provides unique constraints on the physical processes responsible for their formation.

This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Dynamical evolution of star-forming regions: III. Unbound stars and predictions for Gaia [PDF]
We use N-body simulations to probe the early phases of the dynamical evolution of star-forming regions and focus on mass and velocity distributions of unbound stars.
