Mortality in Patients with HIV-1 Infection Starting Antiretroviral Therapy in South Africa, Europe, or North America:A Collaborative Analysis of Prospective Studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
After accounting for under-ascertainment of mortality, with increasing duration on ART, the mortality rate on HIV treatment in South Africa declines to levels comparable to or below those described in participating North American cohorts, while ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Controlling starting-point bias in double-bounded contingent valuation surveys [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we study starting point bias in double-bounded contingent valuation surveys. This phenomenon arise in applications that use multiple valuation questions.

Predictors of mortality in HIV-infected patients starting antiretroviral therapy in a rural hospital in Tanzania. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
\ud \ud Studies of antiretroviral therapy (ART) programs in Africa have shown high initial mortality. Factors contributing to this high mortality are poorly described.

Individual Account of Rotor Current Displacement while Calculating Group Self- Starting of Asynchronous Electric Motors Being TPS Auxiliaries

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2003
The paper considers the possibility to make calculation of group self-starting of asynchronous electric motors being TPS auxiliaries with the help of generalized (averaged) dependences Kr{s), Kx{s) which are equal for all electric motors involved in self-

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Line-start permanent-magnet motor: single-phase starting performance analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper presents a detailed quasi-steady-state approach to different torque components (average and pulsating) for a single-phase capacitor-run permanent-magnet (PM) motor.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Research and Simulation of Electromagnetic Voltage-Regulated Soft Starter Based on Predictive Control

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Aiming at the problems of large starting current and unsmooth starting of asynchronous motor, an electromagnetic voltage-regulated soft start control method based on predictive control is proposed.
