Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Determining the State of a Nonlinear Flexible Multibody System Using an Unscented Kalman Filter

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
This paper describes an estimator incorporating the Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) technique and multibody system dynamics, to determine the state of the flexible multibody applications. The dynamic equation of the flexible mechanism is formed using a set

Survival Outcomes and Complications Among Canadian Children With Retinoblastoma: A Population‐Based Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

Three-Dimensional Trajectory Tracking Control of Underactuated AUV Based on Fractional-Order PID and Super-Twisting Extended State Observer

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This paper addresses the three-dimensional trajectory tracking control problem for the underactuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) operating in complex ocean environments characterized by dynamic disturbances and model uncertainties.

Disturbance modeling and state estimation for offset-free predictive control with state-space process models

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2014
Disturbance modeling and design of state estimators for offset-free Model Predictive Control (MPC) with linear state-space process models is considered in the paper for deterministic constant-type external and internal disturbances (modeling errors). The

Data Driven State Reconstruction of Dynamical System Based on Approximate Dynamic Programming and Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
A data-driven approximation formulation for the state reconstruction problem of dynamical systems is presented in this paper. Without the assumption of an explicit mathematical model, the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) based approach of a ...

Relativity of quantum states and observables [PDF]

open access: yesEPL (Europhysics Letters), 2017
Under the principle that quantum mechanical observables are invariant under relevant symmetry transformations, we explore how the usual, non-invariant quantities may capture measurement statistics. Using a relativisation mapping, viewed as the incorporation of a quantum reference frame, we show that the usual quantum description approximates the ...

Wind Turbine Model and Observer in Takagi-Sugeno Model Structure

open access: yes, 2014
Based on a reduced-order, dynamic nonlinear wind turbine model in Takagi-Sugeno (TS) model structure, a TS state observer is designed as a disturbance observer to estimate the unknown effective wind speed. The TS observer model is an exact representation

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.
