A Battery State of Charge Estimation Method using Sliding Mode Observer

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a simplified battery model and a closed-loop estimation method of the State of Charge (SOC) are proposed. The simplified battery model consists only of two resistors and two capacitors, based on which a sliding mode observer is designed to

Hybrid State of Charge Estimation of Lithium-Ion Battery Using the Coulomb Counting Method and an Adaptive Unscented Kalman Filter

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
This paper establishes an accurate and reliable study for estimating the lithium-ion battery’s State of Charge (SoC). An accurate state space model is used to determine the parameters of the battery’s nonlinear model.

A Physics-Based Electrochemical Model for Lithium-Ion Battery State-of-Charge Estimation Solved by an Optimised Projection-Based Method and Moving-Window Filtering

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
State-of-charge (SOC) is one of the most critical parameters in battery management systems (BMSs). SOC is defined as the percentage of the remaining charge inside a battery to the full charge, and thus ranges from 0% to 100%.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

A Battery State of Charge Estimation Method with Extended Kalman Filter

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a battery State of Charge (SOC) estimation method based on the extended Kalman filter is proposed. In some known battery SOC estimation methods, it is assumed that the relationship between battery open circuit voltage and SOC is linear and

Ferroelectricity in Antiferromagnetic Wurtzite Nitrides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We establish MnSiN2${\rm MnSiN}_2$ and MnGeN2${\rm MnGeN}_2$ as aristotypes of a new multiferroic wurtzite family that simultaneously exhibits ferroelectricity and antiferromagnetism with altermagnetic spin splitting. By strategically substituting alkaline‐earth metals, we predict new materials with coexisting switchable polarization, spin texture, and

Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Optimal least square vector autoregressive moving average for battery state of charge estimation and forecasting

open access: yesICT Express, 2021
The error in state of charge estimation using the combined models is usually attributable to the statistical model. In this study, a least square algorithm is utilized to optimize and increase the state of charge estimation accuracy.
