The problem of identifying the time-dependent thermal conductivity coefficient in the initial–boundary-value problem for the quasi-stationary two-dimensional heat conduction equation in a bounded cylinder is considered. It is assumed that the temperature field in the cylinder is independent of the angular coordinate.

This paper proposes a general method for constructing of the exact solutions of boundary-value problems for differential parabolic type equations in fields of complex shape. The exact solutions built using spline-interlination of the functions. An example of constructing an exact solution is considered.

Determination of the coefficient in the stationary nonlinear equation of heat conduction
Computational Mathematics and Modeling, 1995The article considers the problem of determining the solution-dependent coefficient of heat conductivity in a stationary nonlinear equation of heat conduction containing a parameter. Additional information for the determination of heat conductivity is provided by a function dependent on a parameter, which is obtained by solving a boundary-value problem.

The stationary state and the heat equation for a variant of Davies' model of heat conduction
Journal of Statistical Physics, 1985We study a variant of Davies' model of heat conduction, consisting of a chain of (classical or quantum) harmonic oscillators, whose ends are coupled to thermal reservoirs at different temperatures, and where neighboring oscillators interact via intermediate reservoirs.

The authors, first, study the existence of a solution of the boundary value problem for the stationary Boussinesq equations, which describe viscous heat conducting fluids. Second, they study an extremal inverse problem, that is, in order to determine parameters, which consist of a nonhomogeneous term (the volume density of heat source) and two boundary

This paper presents an analytical solution of the hyperbolic heat conduction equation for a finite slab that sides are subjected to arbitrary heat source, boundary, and initial conditions. In the mathematical model used in this study, the heating on both sides treated as an apparent heat source while sides of the slab assumed to be insulated ...
