Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

Quantum Mechanics without Waves: a Generalization of Classical Statistical Mechanics

open access: yes, 1998
We generalize classical statistical mechanics to describe the kinematics and the dynamics of systems whose variables are constrained by a single quantum postulate (discreteness of the spectrum of values of at least one variable of the theory).

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

A First Exposure to Statistical Mechanics for Life Scientists [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Statistical mechanics is one of the most powerful and elegant tools in the quantitative sciences. One key virtue of statistical mechanics is that it is designed to examine large systems with many interacting degrees of freedom, providing a clue that it ...

Matrix Order Indices in Statistical Mechanics

open access: yes, 2002
A new notion is introduced of matrix order indices which relate the matrix norm and its trace. These indices can be defined for any given matrix.

Covariant statistical mechanics

open access: yesIl Nuovo Cimento B Series 10, 1968
1. The relativistic t ransformation properties of thermodynamical quantities have been discussed even before the advent of the special theory of relativity. In 1904 HASENOEHRL (1) derived a formula for the spectral intensi ty of the radiation emit ted from a moving black body. By 1919 the problem seemed to be solved and clearly understood: a chapter in

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

Nonequilibrium statistical mechanics

open access: yesPhysics Subject Headings (PhySH), 2007
In part I of these lecture notes, I introduce the basic tools of non equilibrium statistical mechanics: linear response, Brownian motion, Langevin equation, (Pauli) master equation.
